14 Jul LGU-Naawan Confirms That Acting Mayor Jaime Roa Is Their 1st COVID-19 Case
Mga higala! The local government unit of Naawan, Misamis Oriental, has confirmed that Vice Mayor or Acting Mayor Jaime Roa is the one who tested positive for COVID-19 in Purok 7, Brgy. Linangkayan on July 11, 2020!
The acting mayor requested to be tested after 3 local employees that he had direct contact with tested positive via rapid detection tests, in which he also turned out positive.
Samples were then taken for RT-PCR or swab tests but the 80-year-old acting mayor’s result was the only one who came back positive.
As a precaution, a localized containment was imposed and a contact tracing is now being conducted.
Moreover, Naawan is now asking those who had close contact with the acting mayor from June 25 to July 10, 2020, to inform their local health office.
