13 Sep NBI Arrests Child Trafficker & Nurse For Selling A Baby From CDO
Mga higala! The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a child trafficker and a registered nurse for selling a baby from Cagayan de Oro City.
According to a report from INQUIRER.NET, The baby seller, identified as April Rose Ramirez, was reportedly selling the child of a married woman to Catherine Lagustan, a nurse who wants to prove to her boyfriend that he got her pregnant. Both of them were nabbed on September 10 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and will be charged for violating Republic Act 7610, or the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
Based on Lagustan’s testimony, everything started when she searched for a baby on social media. She then found the Facebook page Babies Home.ph, where she made contact and transacted with Ramirez. Check out the post below:
After a series of messages, Ramirez then agreed to sell the baby for P30,000 if she gets a fee of P3,500. Lagustan accepted and shouldered Ramirez’ and the child’s airfare from Cagayan De Oro to Manila.
