05 Aug Newest PBB Housemates: Badjao Girl and Yakult Girl
Pinoy Big Brother season 7 is now airing on ABS-CBN. On Thursday, August 4, 2016, two teens who became social media sensations joined this season.
This new housemate is known on social media as “Badjao Girl”. She’s originally from Zamboanga, but due to the difficulty in sustaining their lives, they went to Lucena, Quezon hoping to live an easy life. And she is Rita Gaviola.
Her life changed a lot when a photo of her during the Pahiyas Festival last May goes viral, said Gaviola in an interview on TV Patrol.
She said, “Sobrang maayos na po ang buhay namin. Hindi na po kami naghihirap. Nakakakain na po kami. Hindi na po kami namamalimos.”
One of her favorite shows is Tubig at Langis, starring Christine Reyes, Zanjoe Marudo and Belle Daza. She said she auditioned for PBB because she always dreamed of being an actress and be part of the showbiz world.
And another teen who goes viral joined this season. She is Kristine Hammond, known as “Yakult Girl”.
“May nag-post po kasi ng photo ko habang nagtitinda po ako ng Yakult sa palengke ng Talisay. For fun lang po ‘yung pagtitinda ko tapos ‘yung mga customers, nagpa-picture na po sa akin,” said Hammond.
This photo was posted by Kenneth Perry, captioning it with, “”Kung meron silang Pastillas girl at kwek-kwek girl, kami dito sa Talisay, Batangas may ‘Yakult Girl,’ a half-British half-Filipina who’s selling yakult at Talisay public market.”
Social media changed and influenced the lives of these two young girls. But inside the PBB House, their endurance and ability to get along with others will be tested and proved.
