In an article posted by Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, President Rodrigo Duterte led the rising of the Filipino flag over the main battle area in Barangay Banggulo, Marawi City.
This was after President Duterte declared the liberation of Marawi City from the hands of the Maute-ISIS terrorists.
Duterte made the declaration on its 7th visit to the area despite the worst weather conditions in Marawi City.
It was reported earlier that four consecutive bombs were dropped by the Philippine Air Force at the location of the terrorists.
Further, the leader of the Maute-ISIS terrorists Omar Maute and Isnilon Hapilon died before the final assault of the remaining terrorists.
