04 Feb Northern Mindanao, 2nd Highest In Teenage Pregnancy Rates In The Philippines
Mga higala! NORTHERN MINDANAO is now the region with the 2nd highest teenage pregnancy rate in the whole Philippines, according to data released by the Population Commission (POPCOM).
From the 10% rate recorded in 2013, teenage pregnancy in Region X has drastically increased to 14.7% over the last few years, based on the National Demographic and Health Survey of 2017 which was conducted on women within the age gap of 15 to 19 years old.
Meanwhile, the highest teenage pregnancy rate nationwide was recorded in the Davao Region at 17.9%.

Surveys have also revealed that various personal and family problems are the main reasons that teenagers engage in pre-marital sex.
