07 Sep 12 Northmin Police Chiefs Relieved from Posts for Poor Performance During Oplan Double Barrel
12 police chiefs across Region X (Northern Mindanao) have been relieved from their posts because of their “poor performance” during the operations of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) anti-illegal drugs campaign called Oplan “Double Barrel”. The said relief order took effect last September 5, 2016, according to Chief Superintendent Noel Constantino, regional director of the Police regional Office (PRO) in Northern Mindanao.
Following are the names of the police chiefs relieved from their posts:
- Inspector Charlie Nemeño (Kalilangan Municipal Police Station MPS in Bukidnon)
- Senior Inspector Alwin Baclao (Villanueva, Misamis Oriental MPS)
- Senior Inspector Evary Bacunawa (Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental MPS)
- Senior Inspector Gary Manguera (Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental MPS)
- Senior Inspector Jose Booc (Jimenez, Misamis Occidental MPS)
- Senior Inspector Dennis Tano (Don Victoriano, Misamis Occidental MPS)
- Senior Inspector Ansari Pagador (Pantar, LDN MPS)
- Senior Inspector Guillermo Hamot (Station 3 in Iligan City)
- Inspector Dennis Aranggo (Concepcion, Misamis Occidental MPS)
- Inspector Mohammad Doro (Tangkal, LDN MPS)
- Inspector Julio Catayoc (Guinsiliban MPS)
“They were evaluated as to their performance output including drug personality list generation, household visitations, search warrants implemented, arrest warrants served, filing of drug cases in court, and other police operations conducted,” said Constantino, adding that it took them two months of performance assessments, consultation, reports evaluation and validation, and recommendation from the oversight committee of the project “Double Barrel”.
Temporarily, the relieved chiefs were replaced by their deputies pending the appointment of their replacements.
Meanwhile, the relieved police chiefs were detailed at the city police office or the provincial police office as staff officers for a duration of at least a year of “probation period”. This was according to PRO-Northern Mindanao spokesperson Superintendent Surki Sereñas. “They should vacate their position and give way for the officers who will replace them.”
On the other hand, Sereñas commended Cagayan de Oro City police stations’ performance in a quote, “So far, mubo ang CDO (Cagayan de Oro) police sa household visitations and sa mga surrenderees pero leading sa number of arrest and operations conducted.”
