30 Sep 3 Ranking Officers of NorthMin Police Relieved for Poor Work in Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign
Last Thursday, the police regional command announced the relief of three ranking officers of the Northern Mindanao police from their duties due to their poor performance in the anti-illegal drugs campaign. This said relief came just a few days after President Rodrigo Duterte visited the PNP 10 regional headquarters here in Cagayan de Oro which then took effect in September 27, 2016.
To name the relieved officers were the following:
- Senior Supt. Leonilo Cabug, provincial police director of Camiguin
- Senior Supt. Edgar Daniel, Misamis Occidental provincial police chief
- Senior Supt. Archival Macala, battalion commander of the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB)
Out going chief of the Regional Intelligence Division, Senior Supt. Rolando Destura, replaced Cabug of Camiguin. Former battalion commander of RPSB in Ilocos Region, Senior Supt. Jaysen de Guzman, replaced Daniel of Misamis Occidental. And former chief of Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division, Supt. Danildo Tumanda, replaced Macala.
“This is an offshoot of several overarching reasons that include unsatisfactory performance in the anti-illegal drugs campaign, overstaying and notwithstanding their own personal reasons like their desire for a well-balanced career assignments in both staff and command positions, assignments outside the region, job competency alignment and the unpreventable compulsory retirement,” said Northern Mindanao police spokesperson Supt. Surki Sereñas.
It can be recalled that 12 chiefs of police in Northern Mindanao were also relieved of their duties for poor performance in the anti-illegal drugs campaign.
