Mga higala! The NEW PEOPLE’S ARMY (NPA) has kidnapped 2 soldiers and 12 militiamen yesterday, December 19, in Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, and have declared them as prisoners of war (POW).

Massive pursuit operations are now being conducted by the Philippine Army’s 4th Infantry Division (4ID) and a board of inquiry has been organized to investigate the incident.

The names of the kidnapped soldiers have not been released because their families were not informed yet of their current condition.

Meanwhile, according to a report by Sunstar CDO, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) has released a statement applauding the NPA’s actions as “successful tactical offensives against the Duterte regime’s martial law rule in Mindanao and across the country.”

The CPP also added that the captured soldiers and militiamen are “being treated leniently” and that they will be released soon if the army reduces their attacks against NPA.
