10 Feb “Caring, Conscientious, & Hardworking” Nurse From Bohol Dies Of COVID-19 @ United Kingdom
Mga higala! Estrella Catalan, a 52-year-old Boholana nurse who worked at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) in the United Kingdom, has died due to COVID-19 last Friday, February 5, 2021!
Catalan is an emergency department nurse in the said hospital and has served there for over 18 years.
According to The Bohol Chronicle, she was beloved by her colleagues for her dedication to her work and for being “caring and conscientious.”
Even when she tested positive for the coronavirus, she desperately wanted to get better so that she can help her co-workers and patients.
As a tribute, a minute of silence and a round of applause was given by her fellow staff members and her previous colleagues, together with her husband and sons, outside the NNUH.
The hospital’s flag was also flown at half-mast.
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Staff Nurse Estrella Catalan – a much-loved colleague and hugely respected member of our NNUH family.
Thank you to everyone across the NHS and local community who joined the minute’s silence for her this morning. pic.twitter.com/cLXHDNW8f2
