06 Dec Ocon Considers to Oust TFHD Chairperson Due to Worsening Traffic Problem
Following the controversy circled around a city councilor and traffic enforcer, Task Force Hapsay Dalan chairperson lawyer Edgardo Uy affirmed that he may be forced to testify against the councilor.
According to a report from Sun.Star, City Councilor Zaldy Ocon is considering on proposing to expel Uy as the head of the Road and Traffic Administration (RTA) due to the aggravating traffic problem in Cagayan de Oro City.
Uy, on the other hand, welcomes the plot of unseating him. He said no problem, if Ocon found someone who can replace him, then he will resign and that he already know the councilor’s style.
The chairman said that it is a way for Ocon to distract attention from the real issue.
He said that he only spoke out, insisting that Ocon, as a public official, should have settled the issue in a peaceful way and not by violence in confronting with the claims of traffic enforcer Ric Emmanuel Agustin.
But still, he asserts that Ocon did slap Agustin inside the City Council session hall last December 1, Tuesday.
However, Ocon did not deny nor confirmed the incident on Bombo Radyo, saying that he only pushed the traffic enforcer and did not slap him.
He added that the issue does not concern the traffic citation ticket but rather he was mad at the supposed arrogance and rudeness of Agustin when he approached him.
