OCTA Flags Cagayan de Oro As COVID-19 “Critical Risk” Area

Mga higala! The OCTA research group has recently flagged Cagayan de Oro City as a “critical risk” area for new COVID-19 infections!

According to the group’s latest monitoring report (July 18-24), the city has a “very high” 109% increase in new cases, with an average of 117 new cases per day (compared to the 56 average daily cases in the week before).

Cagayan de Oro now also has an 85% ICU utilization rate and a 24% testing positivity rate.

These numbers are among the highest in the country for July 2021.

ICYDK, the city was recently placed under ECQ due to the detection of delta variant cases.
