03 Nov Ordinance Renaming CDO’s Barangay 1-40 Filed @ City Council
Mga higala! An ordinance aiming to rename Cagayan de Oro City’s numbered barangays, Brgy. 1-40, has been filed by Councilor James Judith II at the 20th City Council!
According to the proposed ordinance:
“Giving each Poblacion barangay a name based on its landmark, major street, or its natural and historical attribute, or of its dominant physical feature would give the general public a directional bearing or location reference as to where it is located unlike the present set up which is somewhat disorienting because there is no easy directional guide to locate it in connection with its neighboring barangays.”
Below are the proposed new barangays names:
- Barangay 1 — San Agustin
- Barangay 2 — City Hall
- Barangay 3 — Havelano
- Barangay 4 — Sentro
- Barangay 5 — D-V-Soria South
- Barangay 6 — D-V-Soria West
- Barangay 7 — Taal-Gomez
- Barangay 8 — D-V-Soria North
- Barangay 9 — D-V-Soria East
- Barangay 10 — Yacapin
- Barangay 11 — Tiano Pacana
- Barangay 12 — Monte Carlo
