In an article posted by Cagayan de Oro City Philippines Facebook Page, the Oro Youth Development Council (OYDC) in collaboration with the City Government of Cagayan de Oro City launched this year’s Search of Child-Friendly Police Station last Monday, October 9.

According to a statement by the OYDC, police officers should be the first in the choices of a child when he/she is facing a dangerous situation. At that, police stations should be equipped as well based on the ideal standards of how to manage a delinquent child and the facilities designed to accommodate them.

OYDC will be awarding the Most Child-Friendly Police Station on November 16. Prizes are P100,000 (1st Place),  P70,000 (2nd Place),  and P50,00 (3rd Place).

On the other hand, City Administrator Dionnie Gersana thanked the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), Cagayan de Oro Police Office, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Gugma sa Kabataan, Balay Mindanaw, Balaod Mindanaw, City Prosecutor’s Office, Kuya Fish Campaign, and Development Bank of the Phils for making the award-giving event possible.
