15 Oct Over 4,000 Cops Dismissed As Part Of PNP’s “Internal Cleansing”

Mga higala! The Philippine National Police (PNP) has dismissed a total of 4,591 police officers as part of its “internal cleansing” program!
According to UNTV News, 549 of the said cops are allegedly involved in illegal drugs:
- tested positive for illegal drugs (shabu)- 410
- involved in illegal drug activities- 139
The others were charged with grave misconduct, serious neglect of duty, serious irregularity, malversation, dishonesty, and graft and corruption.
“We will not tolerate any wrongdoings of our people. As what I’ve said, we will have to arrest you, file cases against you, put you in jail,” said PNP Chief PGen. Camilo Cascolan.
Moreover, 7,888 cops have been suspended from duty and 846 were demoted.
