Residents from Osmeña Sts. were alarmed when a fire had broken out around 10 AM on Monday, November 06, inside Michiba Marketing (auto parts store) in Cagayan de Oro City.

In an article from Bombo Radyo, the fire had spread quickly which consumed fairly a large number of stored tires, rubber, and plastic car accessories causing the whole second floor of the building to be consumed by the fire. In fact, Investigator of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), SFO-1 Dennis Dales, revealed that the fire situation reached until the fourth-alarm and BFP had used a special chemical before the blaze was contained.

It was mentioned that the shopkeeper from Michiba Marketing saw two welders from the adjacent establishment welding from above which they think caused the fire as the roofing of Michiba Marketing was made of plastic.

However, BFP did not release any official statement yet as to what really caused the fire incident.

Damage to properties was estimated to reach P40M while structural damage was estimated to be around P1.3M.
