Last August 24, 2016, Wednesday, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony was held between the PAG-IBIG Fund Northern Mindanao and various transport groups in Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental.
The said transport groups were the Indahag Single Motorist Operators and Drivers Association (ISMODA), Oro Transport Service Cooperative (OROTSCO), Cagayan-Tagoloan-Villanueva Transport Service and Multi Purpose Cooperative (CATAVITSCO) and Metro Cagayan de Oro Transport.
According to Ferdinand Saniel, Pag-IBIG Fund Area Head for Northern Mindanao, they are now considering the informal working sector as a target to become members of the Fund with only 4.5 percent interest rate to pay. Saniel is certain that the members of the sector will be able to secure and own a home for their families since PAG-IBIG Fund is working on socialized housing. Pag-IBIG Fund Cagayan de Oro branch head Susan Cezar added that upon the signing of the MOA among the members, they will provide their contributions to the Fund.
“Ang inyong savings makuha sa panahon nga kinahanglanon na gyud,” said Victoria Dela Pena, Vice President of Members Services Operations- Visayas/Mindanao, that approaching the sector is their way of helping the members to realize that there is a program and an institution that will enable them to meet their basic needs, as well as giving importance to all of the sectors in the country.
