02 Oct PDEA-10 Reports P9-M Worth Of Shabu Collected In NorthMin from January-August
In an article by Bombo Radyo Cagayan de Oro, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 10 Office recovered a total of 2 kilograms of shabu amounting to as much as P9 million in its several anti-illegal drug operation throughout Northern Mindanao from the month of January to August of the current year.
PDEA conducted a total of 228 anti-illegal drugs operation for the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign in Northern Mindanao and arrested 440 suspected drug pushers and users with the help of other law enforcement units for the said months.
While PDEA is tasked to arrest those who will possess, sell and use the illegal drug marijuana, some members of the Congress have considered that marijuana has the potential to become a medicinal drug for patients suffering from different serious illnesses.
Furthermore, Ben Calibre from PDEA said that there is no law that will change the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 with the Republic Act 9165 still existing. Until then, they will continue to chase those who are involved in using and selling marijuana.
