25 May PDP-Laban Getting Stronger – 3 Lawmakers From Mindanao Joined the Group!
On Tuesday, May 24, Misamis Oriental Representative Peter Unabia, Davao City Representative Mylene Albano, and newly-elected Sarangani Representative Rogelio Pacquiao formally joined president-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
The event happened at the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas.
Both Unabia and Albano are members of the Liberal Party (LP) and helped the campaign of Roxas-Robredo tandem in Mindanao. While Rogelio Pacquiao, the brother of senator-elect and ex-boxer Manny Pacquiao, ran under People’s Champ Movement (PCM).
With this transfers and from last week’s shift of incumbent House Minority Leader Ronaldo Zamora and former LP member Alfredo “Albee” Benitez, Davao del Norte Representative Pantaleon Alvarez’s chance of becoming the House Speaker is probable. Incumbent House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr also conceded to Alvarez.
Last week, Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) and the Nacionalista Party (NP) unites with PDP-Laban
National Unity Party (NUP) has already formed an alliance with Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD). Before it, Lakas-CMD was united with PDP-Laban.
