Are you a little on the budget and searching for a restaurant that serves good and affordable meals? No problem on the wallet whether you’re bringing your sweet one or your whole family.
Bigby’s Cafe and Restaurant
This is one of the most popular restaurants in Cagayan de Oro because of its relaxing and cozy ambiance. It’s also well-known for its impressive design and courteous staff.
Best of all, they serve International dishes at around 200-300 pesos per plate and since they serve big servings, you can share a single dish with your special date without spending more than 1,000.
Some of their best-sellers include; Rack a Bye Baby Back Ribs, Ticky Wacky Salad, Fisherman’s Platter, Belly Buster, Chix Ahoy and many others.
Ribs & Bibs
Looking at this place from outside one may think the ambience alone can be expensive. But once you take a gander at their menu, your wallet will be well assured.
The bestsellers such as their House Specialty back ribs, fried chicken, pork belly, pork steak, beef burger steak, grilled blue marlin, grilled salmon fillet, Angus roast beef, and chicken barbecue start at P175 up to P245.
Orders for families from 6-10 persons start at around P465. They’re located at the corner of Corrales Avenue and J.R. Borja Street.
Mesa Filipino Moderne
This restaurant is actually a popular line found in most major cities across the country. Although they’re located at the Ayala Centrio Mall, you need to bring your date here if you both enjoy really good Filipino food cooked the real Filipino way.
Their bestsellers are their giant stuffed squid, dessert set of 4, crispy leche flan, traditional leche flan, pinakbet bangus belly, crab in olive oil, baby squid in olive oil, crab and seafood mix, sisig rice, steamed tilapia, bagoong rice, duck basil fried rice, Tinapa rice, and their ever popular Sinuglaw are all affordable even if you bring your whole family. Prices start off around P175 running up to P495.
Here’s their Valentine’s Day offering you can enjoy with your special someone.
Zuri’s Crib
This fairly new place is located at the Center Point Arcade at the corner of Corrales Avenue and Domingo Velez Street. It is owned and managed by the same group that owns Prawnhouse.
It’s a quaint and cute place with great ambiance that will suit your date day or when you bring your family for dinner. Their affordable bestsellers are their honey barbecue wings, spicy spareribs, fish and fries, crispy isaw, and lechon kawali. The place also doubles up as a sort of bar at night and they serve variations of red wine, tequila, brandy, whiskey, and beer.
Moon Shack
Nestled in a little corner of Corrales Avenue and Justo Ramonal Street is a surprisingly beach resort-looking shack-like restaurant you would normally see in Opol and other coastal restaurants.
If not for the nearby land locked street and nearby houses and establishments as well, you could swear this was a real coastal seafood restaurant. The whole menu lineup is very affordable, and the food is quite delicious and very delectable.
Surprisingly, for a seafood restaurant, one of their proven bestsellers is the Buffalo chicken wings, while others include the Shack’s kinilaw with a siding of “lato,” shore shrimp bucket with homemade salsa chili sauce, and their Platter dishes that are good for 4-5 persons.
House of Native Lechon
This is Cagayan de Oro’s first ever buffet restaurant that offers unlimited lechon. Valentine’s and your date days don’t happen every day so there’s nothing wrong with indulging on occasion.
They’re located along the Buena Oro Road in Upper Macasandig, beside Kambingan. And speaking of Valentine’s, for only P199 per person, you can avail of their buffet with unli native lechon.
What a great budget treat with your sweet loved one or for the whole family. Just take a look at their menu aside from the pig feast with dinuguan:
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Baby back ribs
- Chef’s carbonara
- Special buttered mixed vegetables
- Fresh fruits
- Bourbon delight
