January 9, 2018- With the help of a court-issued search warrant, authorities have nabbed a person of interest for the murder of USTP & PASUC President Ricardo Rotoras.
According to an article by Bombo Radyo, CIDG Chief Investigator SPO4 Noel Oclarit identified the detainee as Architect Rey Galua, a faculty member of USTP and a native of Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte.
Oclarit stated that Galua was suspected due to the fact that he was the previous contractor for million-peso projects in USTP which was stopped by Rotoras.
A number of dangerous weapons were confiscated on Galua’s residence at Pueblo de Oro Subd., Brgy. Lumbia such as; 2 hand grenades, an M-16 rifle, 45 caliber handgun, a 38 and colt 45 pistol.
The CIDG chief also wants to clarify that Galua was only arrested due to possession of illegal firearms and explosives.
Galua is now under a more thorough investigation in order to determine if there is any evidence that would prove his ties to the Rotoras Murder Case.
