06 Nov PH’s 1st “Long-Distance Mountain Tunnel” To Soon Be Built In Davao
Mga higala! The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now set to build the Philippines’ first-ever “long-distance mountain tunnel” in Davao!
This mountain tunnel will be a part of the Davao City Bypass Road project, will be around 2.3 kilometers long, and will run through the mountainous section of Brgy. Magtuod.

It will then connect the Brgy. Sirawan of Davao City and the Brgy. J.P. Laurel of Panabo City, cutting travel time to 49 minutes instead of 1 hour and 44 minutes via the Pan-Philippine Highway Diversion Road.
This mountain tunnel is said to cost around P13.2 billion.
