04 Feb LOOK: PH Coast Guard Approves Hijab As Part Of Female Muslim Uniform
Mga higala! The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has recently approved the inclusion of HIJAB as part of the uniform for their female Muslim personnel!
The Muslim community within PCG thanked the agency and its uniform board for this development and expressed hope that this inclusion may help encourage more Muslim women to join the country’s coast guard.
ICYDK, Hijab is an Arabic word that means ‘being covered’. Islam requires Muslim women to cover themselves in public and in the presence of people who are not ‘mahram’ which refers to family members or persons who are allowed to see Muslim women without cover.
