31 Mar PH Health Workers Entitled to P1 Million In The Event of Death Due to COVID-19
Under the new law – Republic Act 11469 or Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, the Philippine government will be giving P100,000 to health workers who’ll get infected with COVID-19 while in the line of duty, and a payout worth P1 million each will be granted to those who may die due to the virus.
The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) assures that the efforts and the dedicated service of our health workers are being recognized amid the threat of the coronavirus.
March hasn’t ended yet, but there are already over 10 doctors who have died due to the disease while others are in critical condition. And since our health workers have direct contact with those who are infected with COVID-19, they are classified as either PUIs or PUMs.
