04 Jan PH Population Expected to Rise from 105 to 107 Million in 2018

In an article by Philstar Global, the Commission on Population (PopCom) has stated that the country’s population is expected to rise from 105.53 million last year to 107.19 million by the end of 2018.
This was based on the projections of the Philippine Statistics Authority on the last census in 2015. PopCom Executive Director Juan Antonio Perez III specified that the population was estimated to grow to 107,190,081 by Dec. 31 from 105,377,586 in 2017.
The increase will be boosted with the birth of 1.8 million babies this year.
“That means we will be adding 4,953 Filipinos per day or 206 every hour in 2018,” Perez added.
