08 Dec Soldiers to miss Christmas as clash broke out anew in Butig
Soldiers who were assigned in Mindanao might have a slim chance of celebrating Christmas with their families as a clash broke out again in Butig, Lanao del Sur province.
According to a report from Inquirer, members of the First Scout Ranger Company clashed with some 60 members of the Maute terror group in Barangay Sandab, killing a soldier.
The military said they are continuing the military operations in the area to neutralize the local terrorists and that it could extend until Christmas.
Soldiers under the command of Lt. General Mayoralgo dela Cruz, chief of the Military Western Mindanao Command will not be having a Christmas break.
