01 Dec PH under ‘terror alert level 3’ after failed bomb plot in Manila
The entire country is now under terror alert level three after two suspects were arrested on Monday’s failed bomb plot near the United States Embassy.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa declared the alert after he presented the two suspects who are identified as Rashid Kilala and Jiaher Guinar.
The two admitted in planning the attack, initially targeting Luneta but then transferred to Roxas Boulevard near the US Embassy where the bomb failed to detonate.
PNP alerted the public to stay vigilant as they are planning to set up checkpoints and Oplan Sita.
The two suspects are seeking recognition from the Islamic State and divert the government’s offense in Lanao del Sur.
