Phase 2 Of Mindanao Railway System To Connect Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, & Iligan

Mga higala! The PHASE 2 of the MINDANAO RAILWAY SYSTEM has recently been unveiled, and when finished, it will connect Butuan, Cagayan De Oro, Laguindingan, and Iligan!

According to Mindanao Economic Boom, Phase 2 will cost 71.63 billion pesos and will be budgeted through a loan from China.

In case you missed our previous report, the Department of Transportation (DoTr) is now set to start the construction of Mindanao Railway’s PHASE 1 in January 2019.

Moreover, according to the Philippine News Agency, the first phase of the project covers 102 kilometers with eight stations starting from Tagum City, Panabo, Carmen, Mudiang in Davao City, Magtuod, Toril, Sta. Cruz and Digos City. It is expected to be finished within three years–before the term of President Rodrigo Duterte ends.
