Last Monday, August 1, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is ready to serve Kagay-anons with their new business office. It is located along Max Suniel Street in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.

Datu Masiding Alonto, PhilHealth regional vice president and area vice president for Mindanao said, “We chose barangay Carmen because it is the biggest barangay in Cagayan de Oro with over 25 percent of the city population are living here”.

This new branch is PhilHealth’s way of reaching out to those who are really in need to give them accessible government services. They will also provide services especially memberships and premium contributions except for the payments, Alonto added.

Company’s chief of Field Operations lawyer Allan Panolong and Ma. Rhodesia Monsanto, chief of Management Services Division were there to attend the opening ceremony.

Alonto added that more branches are expected to rise all over the city in the next couple of months as they are trying to raise their coverage from 80 to 100 percent in Northern Mindanao.

“This is, of course, part of our mission to continue providing universal membership,” ended Alonto.
