P50 Million Planetarium-Science Study Center, To Be Constructed in El Salvador

Monday, March 19, 2018. According to an article by Mindanao Daily News, during yesterday’s flag raising ceremony at Capitol Grounds, Misamis Oriental Gov. Bambi Emano announced the construction of a 50-million-peso science study center at Molugan, El Salvador City this year.

This science study center, to be called Planetarium, is a project of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) and is aimed to provide children with the opportunity to enjoy while studying planets, constellations and other astronomical objects without the need to leave Mindanao.

Emano also added that the planetarium has an 80% probability of realization, which will be built with an air-conditioned dome with where chairs are installed for children to use in looking up in the sky.

“This project will be the first in Mindanao to be built in Misamis Oriental. We have already one in Luzon and one in Visayas. We are proud this will rise in Misamis Oriental,” -Emano.
