26 Jun 2 PMA Cadets & 3 Doctors To Face Murder Charges For The Hazing Death Of Darwin Dormitorio
Mga higala! The Baguio City Prosecutors Office has found a basis to file hazing and murder charges against two (2) Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadets and three (3) doctors who are involved in the death of Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio from Cagayan de Oro City last September 18, 2019!
According to Inquirer.Net, charges for murder and the violation of Section 14 (a) of the RA 11053 or the Anti-Hazing Law will be charged to PMA 3rd Class Cadets Shalimar Imperial and Felix Lumbag Jr. for allegedly planning and participating in the hazing that killed Dormitorio.
Meanwhile, murder charges will be filed against medical officers– Capt. Flor Apple Apostol, Maj. Ofelia Beloy, and Lt. Colonel Ceasar Candelaria from the PMA Station Hospital (PMASH) for their reckless imprudence which contributed and also resulted in the said death.
A resolution from the said prosecutor’s office emphasized that Dormitorio’s death “was not the result of a single criminal act, nor was it the product of two criminal acts, where one was necessary to commit the other.”
