12 Dec PNP Northern Mindanao suspends taping of gun muzzle
It has been a practice for the Philippine National Police to tape their gun muzzles especially on Christmas and New Year holidays to stop indiscriminate firing, however, this year the PNP-Northern Mindanao suspended the taping of gun muzzle.
According to a report by Malaya, PNP Region 10 ordered a stop to the practice to promote responsible use of government-issued firearms among the policemen.
PNP said the taping of gun muzzles show distrust of the PNP and its own men.
The police leadership today trust its policemen and those who will violate the directive will severely deal with to the fullest extent of the law.
