Mga higala! Officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has recently ordered that all overweight cops in the country should lose weight starting this 2020!

In his press conference in Camp Crame last week, Gamboa said that those who will not achieve their Body mass index (BMI) and maintain their ideal weight will be prohibited from attending training and other types of schooling, which will hinder their career advancement and promotion.

“You will be denied schooling until you comply with the BMI requirements,” said Gamboa.

He also added that this is not just for the PNP’s image, but for the health of police officers as well.

“This is not all about ‘yong image ng PNP na dapat walang tiyan but this is more on individual responsibility.”

Moreover, according to PNP, almost 50% of our 190,000-strong police force are overweight and obese.
