More police will be deployed as class season starts in CdeO

In an article from Sunstar CdeO, more policemen will be deployed in the streets of Cagayan de Oro City and Northern Mindanao simultaneous with the opening of classes in some public and private schools yesterday, June 5.

This is in line with the Police Regional Office (PRO) Northern Mindanao guidelines that follow the “Oplan Ligtas Balik Eskwela 2017” and the combined efforts of the Department of Education (DepEd), Northern Mindanao police and other local organizations in ensuring a more secured and safer school communities.

PRO-Northern Mindanao has assured that there will be more cops on patrol at the different school location where they will be putting up police assistance desks, as well as to boost public safety and police visibility.

In addition, police forces will also be conducting foot patrols along major vehicle routes leading to and around vicinities of schools to prevent chances of criminal attacks.

The agency also announced the implementation of a no-overloading policy for public utility vehicles and the new zoning ordinance which prohibits internet cafes and computer shops from putting up their businesses near schools.

A reminder was also given out to pupils and student to be extra careful in talking to individuals that they do not personally know. They were also reminded to keep from bringing out large amounts of cash in public and refrain from using expensive phones while walking along the streets.
