07 Apr Pope Francis Promises Prayers for Duterte After He Sincerely Apologized About His Cursing Remarks

After PDP-Laban’s Rodrigo Duterte sent a letter to Pope Francis last January 21, 2016 which contained his words of “sincere apologies” for his remarks cursing the pontiff during his proclamation speech last November 2015 when the mayor’s car was stranded in the traffic jam during the papal visit happened last January 2015, a letter was sent back to him coming from the pope.
The said counter letter was written last February 24, 2016 and there stated that it was “from the Vatican” containing, “The Holy Father offers the assurance of his prayers for you, as he invokes upon you the divine blessings of wisdom and peace,” as read from the letter addressed to Duterte, said a representative of Pope Francis, Angelo Becciu.
According to Bong Go, executive assistant of Duterte, they received the letter the past week through Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles.
