Mga higala! President Rodrigo Duterte has issued an order canceling the planned dry run of face-to-face classes this January 2021 due to the threat of the new COVID-19 strain— the B117!

In a recent meeting, Pres. Duterte ordered DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones “to suspend everything, all activities of children, especially face-to-face classes.”

ICYDK, the B117 is not likely deadlier but is said to be 70% more transmissible than other COVID-19 strains. It was first detected in the United Kingdom (UK) but related cases have already been found in other parts of the world.
