06 Jan President Duterte Favors Painless & Cheaper COVID-19 Saliva Test

Mga higala! President Rodrigo Duterte has expressed that he favors the use of saliva tests to detect COVID-19, rather than the painful nasal swab test!
“Ako talaga every time na kinukulikot ‘yung ilong ko nagmumura ako kasi masakit. I have to open my mouth wide.”
“Pero may bago daw, sabi naman nito ni Gordon na ang swabbing sa saliva is 99 percent. Eh ‘di iyan na ang gagamitin natin,” the President said in a recent address.
ICYDK, the Philippine Red Cross has recently stated that saliva tests are much faster and cheaper than swab tests. Saliva tests are also said to be 99% effective in detecting COVID-19.
However, this is still being studied in the Philippines and has yet to be approved by the concerned agencies.
