17 May President Duterte Signs Law Granting Night Differential Pay For Gov’t Employees
Mga higala! President Rodrigo Duterte has recently signed Republic Act No. 11701, a measure granting night differential pay to all government employees!
This includes workers in government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs).
According to the said measure, this night differential pay is applicable for all government employees, whether they are permanent, contractual, temporary, or casual workers.
Below is a summary of the main details:
- Night differential pay rate must not exceed 20% of the employee’s hourly rate
- Applicable for each hour of work between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am
- Not applicable for workers with official office hours between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am
- Not applicable for on-call employees (24/7) like soldiers, police officers, firefighters, etc.
