20 Sep President Duterte Warned the Public: “There will be another explosion, believe me”
President Rodrigo Duterte hinted that the young Moro rebels were responsible for the deadly explosion last September 2 at Davao city night market that killed 15 individuals and injured 69 others. The president then warned the public that there will be another bomb explosion in the country. As he spoke, “There will be another explosion, believe me.”
President Duterte stated during a meeting on Monday at Davao City with survivors and families of the victims of the explosion, “If not in Davao, then somewhere in Mindanao or other parts of the country.”
The President met with the survivors and victims of the Davao explosion to provide assistance to them.
After the government declared intensive operations against the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu, the president already expected the Davao bomb attack. As he spoke,”I knew na puputok dito. Nu’ng bakbakan na sa Sulu, alam ko. No need to (say if it is) Maute, Abu Sayyaf.”
The Abu Sayyaf is based in Basilan and Sulu provinces while the Maute group are in Lanao del Sur.
President Duterte said, “The young don’t belong to any organization, they are identified with the ISIS. They have sworn allegiance already to the Isis.”
