The Point Guard from Cagayan de Oro City, Jiovani Jalalon, who had previously displayed his versatile game in the elimination round of the 2016 Stankovic cup has finished strong in their final game against Thailand last Saturday. With this 97-80 win over Thailand, it made the Philippines’ Gilas Cadet team the 2016 Stankovic Cup Champions!
Jalalon, a known stat sheet stuffer with his versatile game recorded an impressive mark in their gold medal game against Thailand. He had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.

Although Troy Rosario had 17 points, the highest among the cadets and one point ahead of Jalalon, it is Jalalon, Tolomia, and Belo who made the big difference in the game.
The game went toe to toe in the first three quarters, but the trio of Jalalon, Tolomia, and Belo propelled the Cadets in a 10-0 run which eventually created an insurmountable separation late in the game that paved the way for their 97-80 victory over the Thais and silencing the crowd who are backing their very own team Thailand.
