07 Mar Residents and Officials of Brgy. Puerto To Conduct Rally Against Transfer of LTO Extension Office

The residents and officials of Barangay Puerto have expressed their intent to conduct a rally at the office of Land Transportation Office 10 Regional Director Oscar Salcedo.
According to a report by Bombo Radyo, this is due to the planned transfer of an LTO Extension Office in Brgy Puerto to Brgy Agusan next week.
Puerto’s Brgy Captain, Ian Achas, stated that this is not acceptable since the mentioned transfer will mean that a lot of residents will lose their ways of earning a livelihood which is directly connected to the business opportunities given by the LTO Extension Office.
Meanwhile, Salcedo said that he isn’t worried about the rally. He added that he has given Achas more than a year to find a new location for the LTO Extension Office in Puerto, but Achas failed to comply.
