08 Jun Rainy Season Preparation in CDeO
In an article from Sunstar CdeO, the Cagayan de Oro City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) will do its part in making the public aware of the possible disasters that the rainy season will bring about.
This was after PAGASA announced last May 30 that some parts of the country such as Metro Manila and western side of the country are experiencing heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms in the past week and that other parts of the country will likely to experience low to above rainfall conditions in the months of June and July.
According to Allan Porcadilla, CDRRMD officer-in-charge, starting June 8 and 9, the agency will test the flood warning system as part of the preparations for the rainy season.
The flood warning systems have apparatuses programmed to warn the city of possible flash floods. This was made possible through the efforts of the Northern Mindanao Project, an invention by the National Disaster Management Institute, PAGASA, and the CDRRMO.
