Mga higala! The first-ever OMICRON variant case in Region 10 or Northern Mindanao was recently recorded in Iligan City!
This case is said to be a Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF).
Below are the case details:
CASE
- a seaman from Kenya, resident of a barangay in Iligan
ACTIVITY TIMELINE
- December 16: arrived in Cebu via Qatar Airways and swab tested
- December 16-30: stayed in isolation centers
- December 19: swab results came back positive
- December 20: experienced cough and fever
- December 30: arrived Laguindingan
According to reports, this patient has already tested negative before leaving Cebu. However, his genome sequencing result, which showed that he was positive with the Omicron variant, was just received by the City Health Office of Iligan this week.
