LOOK: Retired Police Conducts “Long Walk Protest” From Bukidnon To Malacañang

Mga higala! Hector Fernandez, a retired police sergeant, is now doing a “long walk protest” from his hometown in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon to the Malacañang Palace in Metro Manila, in order to send a message to President Rodrigo Duterte!

According to various reports, Fernandez wants to ask the President to grant him and his colleagues the “disability benefits” that they need.

The said benefit or assistance was suspended last year to ensure that no “double compensation” of benefits are given to the members of the PNP. (The said issue is due to a conflict regarding the PNP Welfare Benefits Program and the PNP Retirement Benefits Program.)

Fernandez, now 57 years old, was forced to retire in 2011 after suffering a spinal cord injury during a police operation against illegal gambling in Nueva Ecija.
