SEA Games Boxing Gold Medalist From Cagayan de Oro Dies @ 35

Mga higala! Genebert Palasol Basadre of Cagayan de Oro City, a former boxer and a gold medalist of the Southeast Asian Games (2005), has recently passed away at the age of 35.

According to reports, he collapsed in his home last April 19, 2021, and was brought to the Polymedic Medical Plaza.

He was revived on April 20 but unfortunately fell back into a coma. He then passed away on the morning of April 25.

ICYDK, Basadre retired in 2010 to pursue his career in the Philippine Army. However, he still made efforts to help and coach aspiring boxers in Cagayan de Oro.
