03 Jul 18 skeletal remains with shattered skulls were discovered in Marawi City

In an article from Bombo Radyo news website, 18 skeletal remains of human beings that have sustained gunshots to the head were recovered inside the war zone in Marawi City.
According to the SOCO Medico-Legal Officer C/Insp. Dr. Christian Caballes, the death of the 18 individuals was caused by gunshots and extreme head trauma.
During an autopsy at Barangay Tipanoy in Iligan City, it was found out that there were no females among the 18 human remains and have been ruled out that all were males.
As of this writing, authorities were not yet able to identify if the remains are from civilians killed in the middle of the clashes in Marawi City or from Maute terrorist group members.
