5 improvised explosives were recovered by the authorities at Datu Odin Sinsuat and Sultan Kudarat.

Though there are no individuals who claimed responsibility for this offense, but based on the police information in the recent terror attack in Davao City was allegedly done by the Malaysian militant Jemaah Islamiyah, the local Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters and followers of slain Malaysian bomber Zulkifli Abdhir alias Marwan, these groups may also be responsible for the foiled attacks in the area.

There are numerous bombing attacks in the region and authorities said that jihadist groups who are actively operating in Maguindanao were behind it.

Two brothers identified as Guiamadel and Anwar Sandigan, are known bomb-makers in North Cotabato who escaped a recent raid by government troops in a town of M’lang. Authorities are now pursuing these brothers.

Jokrie Buisan, one of the brothers’ henchman, was arrested and the government troops confiscated a fragmentation grenade and materials used in making improvised explosives, including cell phones, blasting caps and black powder.

It was not confirmed if these three had any connections with the terror attack in Davao City that killed 14 and injured 60 individuals.
