27 Jul South Korea extends travel alert to CdeO and Davao
In an article from Yonhap News Agency, the government of South Korea yesterday, July 26, announced its decision to extend its travel alert on Cagayan de Oro City and Davao City due to experienced hostility and terror attacks in Mindanao particularly in Marawi City.
South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the travel alert which started last May has been extended to last for the rest of this year.
The extension of Martial Law in Mindanao also has a bearing to the decision of the ministry in deciding to continue the travel alert wherein South Korean citizens are discouraged to go and visit the region under the travel alert.
Furthermore, the ministry will continue to be updated with the progress made in restoring peace and order in Mindanao so that basis for the continuation of the travel alert will be established.
