17 Oct Blooming Petals Agri-Tourism Park: South Cotabato’s Pride and Sunshine
South Cotabato is one of the most popular provinces not only in Mindanao but also throughout the whole country not because for anything grand and nice but, unfortunately, for the decade-old misbranding of the term “Cotabato” which is most likely attributed to the frequent occurrence of war and conflict around the region.
Diverting from the common misconception of many, South Cotabato is a place where natural wonders and beautiful places are slowly being recognized nationally. In fact, one of its newly-opened tourist attractions is the Blooming Petals Agri-Tourism Park in the municipality of Tupi where a wide Sunflower and other varieties of flowers can be found.
It was introduced for public experience last May 27, 2017, by the Mariano family and is the first ever sunflower farm in the whole Region 12. Since its opening, hundreds of people have been visiting the agritourism park and to take pictures of the beautifully lined up rows of Sunflowers that are cultured and propagated using imported sunflower seeds from Japan.
Aside from the sunflower main attraction, Blooming Petals also has other varieties of flower plants such as chrysanthemums, anthuriums, and roses in their other farms within the town. There are also vegetables planted around the farm that are sold at varying prices.
As a family business, the owners of the farm are also selling their produce in the town and other places in the country particularly in Dangwa, Sampaloc, Manila where the family owns a flower shop.
With just an entrance fee of P30 for adults and P20 for children, the farm is open for everybody on weekends.
Flowers is still the favorite of many to represent beauty and happiness in its simplest form. Much more if you are in the middle of the sunflower field of Blooming Petals Agri-Tourism Park, it could be one of the most wonderful things to happen in one’s life.
