04 Nov Sunset at the Beachfront Electronic Dance Music Festival 2016: A Night Filled with Great Music, Sports Exhibition and Bikini Babes
Sunset at the Beachfront: Electronic Dance Music Festival 2016 was held last October 28, 2016 (Friday) at the Apple Tree Resort Hotel in Opol.
This rave party-like festival was presented by Apple Tree Resort and Hotel in celebration of Oktoberfest but outside the usual Halloween parties that have become part and parcel for the end of October in Cagayan de Oro.
The event was divided into three parts; the beach volley, bikini open competition and the rave party.
Beach Volley
The party started off at around 4:00 p.m. with a Beach Volleyball Competition from six registered teams mostly from Opol, Misamis Oriental. After a single round-robin and playoffs, Team CU emerged as the overall winner.
Each team is composed of at least 3 or 4 players, but only 3 players could play at any time.
Bikini Open
This was followed around 6:00 p.m. by the Bikini Open competition. This was the first of its kind in the city since rave parties during the fiesta or other special occasions are bereft of such.
This is also given the fact that the venue of the dance festival is a beachfront, and that Cagayan de Oro is well known for its hot beauties.
Of the seven beauties who ramped onstage for the title, three were eventually selected as the winners: an overall titlist with the 1st and 2nd runner-ups.
Then, the Bombeats, a local dance group, performed a hip-hop dance number on stage. From here, the dancing began with the electronic dance music pulsing with every bass beat.
Through the night a continuous laser light show was showing on the dance floor. A pyrotechnics show briefly interrupted the dancing, to the cheers of everyone present.
Rave Party
The rave party was spearheaded by MC Jared of Metro Davao City.
Of course, the electronic dance festival was nothing without the lineup of awesome DJ’s. The official lineup on that night included:

A free-lance club DJ based in Cagayan de Oro, Rain man is also a college professor and a senior clinical instructor in surgery in one of the biggest Universities in the city.
