13 Mar Suspect admits raping, killing a college student in CDO

In a report from Sunstar Cagayan de Oro, the suspect finally admitted raping and stabbing 30-year old victim, Cherrymae Dayo, a working student in CDO last Sunday March 12.
Warren Amarga, 24, admitted to the police that he stabbed the victim after he was caught in the act of stealing a sack of rice. He also admitted of raping the victim after stabbing her and said he panicked so he ran away.
Amarga also stated that the other 4 suspects who were arrested have nothing to do with the incident. He said he was the only one responsible for Dayo’s death.
Police arrested Amarga’s friends: Joel Jonson, 22; Angel Mae Rada, 22; Joan Escalante, 18; and a 17-year old, all of whom police said acted as Amarga’s lookouts.
Amarga admitted of using drugs however did not use at that time of the incident. He said he was under the influence of alcohol at that time.
